Manchester City will kick start the January transfer window by welcoming the 19 year old Brazilian wonder kid Gabriel Jesus.
Jesus joins City from Palmeiras on a deal worth £27m with the young forward already having five goals in his six caps for his national side and an Olympic gold medal.
To ensure that he joined the Manchester club, Pep Guardiola reportedly phoned Jesus in person in the summer to convince him to move to the Premier League.
He currently boasts 21 goals in 46 appearances for Palmeiras and has even been tipped as a future Ballon d’Or winner by a former coach.
Speaking to AFP, Jose Francisco Mamede, who coached Jesus at youth levels, said that “In three years he’ll win the Ballon d’Or, because Messi will already be getting a bit old.”
Jesus is coming
Jesus might be arriving with a lot of buzz surrounding him but he has his work cut out for him considering that the likes of Sergio Aguero currently heads the City attack.
City fans will certainly be hoping that Jesus does come off after the likes of Jesus Navas and Raheem Sterling not quiet living up to expectations thus far.
If he does live up to the expectations, then City could very well have one of the best players in the world developing within their ranks given his already impressive record at such a young age.
If nothing else Pep has begun to put the finishing touches on what is becoming a very good attacking squad as Jesus will join the likes of forward players such as Sterling, Sane, De Bruyne and Aguero.
