The Hurricanes put in a brillaint second half effort to thrash the Blues 36-15 in Auckland on Friday.
The visitors got off to a flier as a brilliant maul saw Ricky Riccitelli go over in just the sixth minute and Beauden Barrett had no problems slotting the conversation.
Stephen Perofeta got the Blues onto the scoreboard 10 minutes later as he calmly converted a penalty after the Hurricanes were caught offside.
Some individual brilliance from Sonny Bill Williams then saw Orbyn Leger go over and give Blues the lead. Williams attacked the line, tacking three defenders with him, before somehow managing to offload to Leger who had no problems running it in, Perofeta could not add the additional two points.

Greg Evans gave the Hurricanes the lead again eight minutes before half time. After a sustained period of pressure, the eight man took advantage of a napping Blues defence by taking a quick tap before going low and powering over the try line before Barrett successfully converted to give the Canes a 14-8 lead at the break.
The Blues got off to a good start in the second half as a try from Ofa Tu’ungafasi gave them the lead for the second time, but an emphatic finish from Nehe Milner-Skudder a few minutes later quickly restored order for the Hurricanes as he darted around Perofeta before taking Rieko Ioane over the line.
The Hurricanes then began pile on the pressure as Sam Losl added another try for the visitors and Barrett continued his fine goal kicking form as he slotted the conversion before adding another penalty in the 77th minute.
It was Matt proctor who had the final say as a brilliant piece of play saw Ngani Laumape picked out Jordie Barrett with a cross kick who then popped inside for his brother Jordie in the tackle to find Proctor who dived over for the bonus point try to cap off a convincing 36-15 victory.
