Griezmann, who has been heavily linked to a move to Barcelona since January, has turned down the advances of the Catalans to extend his stay at Atletico Madrid. The 27-year-old was expected to move to Barcelona this summer for a transfer fee around of around €100m, but in dramatic fashion decided against moving to the Spanish giants. The official announcement follows a TV episode where Griezmann put the football world on their edge of their seats by saying that he’d be revealing what he intended to do with his future later that night.

The TV show named ‘La Decision’, had Griezmann confirming his decision to stay at Atletico Madrid much to everyone’s disappointment unless you were an Atletico fan.

“They are doing everything possible to make sure the team keeps growing. It’s incredible. I can’t take it anymore, I need to tell the people that I want to stay,” said Griezmann in the interview.

Not one to shy away from a good transfer saga, last season Griezmann  got Manchester United fans excited by confirming that he was interested in a move to Old Trafford only to once again change his mind and continue his stay at Atletico Madrid. Griezmann scored 29 goals and added 15 assists in 49 apperances in all competitions last season, helping Atletico Madrid win the Europa League. So it looks like we will continue to watch the French number 7 play his trade at the Wanda Metropolitano.
