Belgium have secured their place in the final stages of the world cup at the expense of an unfortunate Tunisia.
The action started in the sixth minute when Eden Hazard converted a penalty kick after a foul on the edge of the box and scored the fastest Belgian goal of a World Cup.
The game looked close to being over already minutes later, when Lukaku provided a sublime finish in the bottom corner after a Tunisian defensive mistake.
Lukaku scored another just before the half time whistle, which saw him join Ronaldo at the top of the Golden Boot list and become the leading goal scorer for Belgium in major tournaments.
There was still some fight left in the Tunisians who struck back only moments later. A free kick in the attacking third provided the lively Tunisians with a much-welcomed opportunity to score through the impressive right back Dylan Bronn duly provided in the 18th minute.
Unfortunately, that would be the last of Bronn’s involvement, as he was then stretchered off due to injury in the 21st minute. This was not to be Tunisia’s last injury of the game, with the team making all three of their substitutions before half time.
After the break the Belgians didn’t let up the pressure, with Eden Hazard scoring yet again in the 51st minute.
By this time the result had already been decided, and Wahbi Khazri’s goal in the 93rd minute only served to cancel out Michy Batshuayi’s 90th minute strike.
For Belgium this means a spot at the top of the group for now and a guarantee to continue in the competition, regardless of their result I against England next week.
