New Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers will be expected to transform the Foxes into a side that can challenge for a top six finish. The 2015-16 Premier League Champions recently sacked Claude Puel after they struggled to play consistent football this season.
Rodgers was appointed as the new manager of the club. The former Liverpool boss made the controversial decision to exit Celtic when they were on the verge of winning the Scottish Premiership title yet again in order to return to the Premier League.
His decision will certainly not do anything to silence the critics of Scottish football who feel that it is significantly inferior as compared to the English top-flight.
Rodgers will need to make a few key decisions next summer as he looks to re-build a Foxes side which has clearly been struggling to play well consistently after they won the Premier League title. These key decisions may involve having to replace captain Wes Morgan and striker Jamie Vardy. The 32-year-old Vardy is still good enough to compete at the highest level. He has so far scored 10 goals this season.
However, he is past his peak now and the club must look to ease the burden on him. One player whom they should look to sign is Rangers star Alfredo Morelos. Both Shinji Okazaki and Kelechi Iheanacho have not been prolific scorers at the King Power Stadium and the club will need to bring in someone new to provide competition and support to former England international Vardy.
Morelos has more or less admitted that he wants to leave Scotland for a big-money move this summer, as reported by The Scottish Sun.
The Colombian has all the ingredients required to succeed in England and is currently in top form, having scored 16 goals so far from 24 games in the Scottish top-flight. This is a player whom Rodgers must go all-out to sign this summer.
