The South African summer is almost over but Cricket South Africa still has one last domestic event, the T20 Challenge formerly known as the Ram Slam T20 Challenge.
The CSA T20 Challenge is contested amongst the six franchises: Warriors, WSB Cape Cobras, VKB Knights, Multiply Titans, Bizhub Highveld Lions, and Hollywoodbets Dolphins.
The Multiply Titans have been by far the most successful team in the tournament winning the past three seasons. The tournament will run from the 5th of April to the 5th of May 2019. At the launch of the tournament Cobras batsman, Pieter Malan highlighted how the tournament would be a good opportunity for the young guys to show can do and he are some of the young players to watch:
Cobras will miss the services on JP Duminy in the opening matches of the tournament due to a shoulder injury but Hashim Amla makes his return.
The prolific right-hander has been in terrible form of late and in many ways this is the veterans last chance to prove that he still has what it takes to play at the highest of levels and secure a berth in the World Cup squad.
The first match comes from Supersport Park, Centurion on Friday where the Titans host the Warriors.
