Pakistan Cricket Board(PCB) have named a squad of 23 probables who will go for under fitness tests before the final 15 players will be released on the 18th of April.
Pakistan are a dark horse candidate for World Cup glory after their victory in the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017 despite their nightmare year to date in limited overs cricket which has seen heavy ODI series defeats against South Africa and Australia.
No Pakistan players are involved in the Indian Premier League for political reasons which means that the squad of 23 will have lots of time together to train and get the combinations within the team right.
Sarfaraz Ahmed is set to captain the side at the tournament whilst they are bolstered in experience by Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik. The bowler to look out for would be Shaheen Afridi who has impressed in the early stages of his career despite being just 18 years of age.
Probables: Sarfaraz Ahmed (c), Abid Ali, Asif Ali, Babar Azam, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Sohail, Hassan Ali, Imad Wasim, Imam-ul-Haq, Junaid Khan, Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Hasnain, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Rizwan, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shan Masood, Shoaib Malik, Usman Shinwari, Yasir Shah
