The Emirates Lions have made a few changes to their team that will face the Crusaders on Friday, but Elton Jantjies will retain the 12 jersey after an impressive performance outside young flyhalf Gianni Lombard who returned how due to injury.
The Lions managed to turn their tour around with an impressive win over the Chiefs as Warren Whiteley returned to lead his team to victory.
Whiteley was instrumental in the victory which included an inch perfect kick ahead to set up Aphiwe Dyantyi in the first half.
Another good cameo was the starting combination of Lombard at flyhalf with Jantjies at inside centre which gave the Lions two decision-makers and distributors which played a big role in the ball reaching the wider areas wuicker.
This week, the Lions will once again boast a strong loose trio whilst props Sti Sithole and Carlu Sadie who were instrumental in the Chiefs encounter keep their spots.
Springbok hooker Malcolm Marx is not in the 23 and looks to have been rested whilst other changes see Sylvian Mahuza start on the wing whilst Ruan Combrinck will start at fullback.
Nick Groom gets a run out ahead of Ross Cronje who has been a much needed sense of calmness on the field which has been an aspect lacking in the first half of the season.
The Crusaders meanwhile will be without an All Blacks trio as Scott Barrett, Owen Franks and Matt Todd all miss out. Franks has been ruled out through injury while Barrett and Todd have been given an extended rest.
