Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt is on the brink of joining Italian giants Juventus after his agent Mino Raiola confirmed that he has agreed personal terms with the Serie A champions.
Raiola told Dutch paper De Telegraaf that “Matthijs has agreed personal terms with Juve. We’re waiting for them to complete the agreement with Ajax soon”.
De Ligt has been one of the hottest transfer prospects of the summer with the Dutch teenage sensation being linked with moves to Barcelona and Manchester United after captaining Ajax to the Eredivisie title as well as the UEFA Champions League semi-final.
According to SkySports, Ajax are asking for a transfer fee of £67.3m with Juventus said to be offering £49.3 plus another £9m in bonuses.
Should the transfer get over the line, de Ligt will reportedly sign a deal worth £10.8m a year which works out to be a weekly wage of £230,000.
The centre back turns 20 in August and has featured in the Champions League semi-final with Ajax as well as the UEFA Nation’s League final with Netherlands.
