According to the Daily Mail Real Madrid could come knocking soon with the Spanish giants keen on landing N’Golo Kante in a swap deal involving James Rodriguez. Reports say that Real Madrid is keen on making an £86m swoop for Kante which would also involve Rodriguez heading in the opposite direction.
Real Madrid signed Eden Hazard from Stamford Bridge in the summer in a deal worth £150 million. Despite Hazard having a slow start in Spain that has not detered the Spanish giants from looking to Chelsea again to inject new blood into their midfield.
James Rodriguez may have become a forgotten man at Madrid following two seasons on loan at Bayern Munich but he is forcing his way back into the first team in the same vein as Gareth Bale by putting together a few strong performances. Despite this, Madrid have not changed their stance on trying to offload Rodriguez are said to be still willing to listen to offers for the 28-year-old.
Although Chelsea could be keen on a deal, it is thought that rival clubs are also tracking Rodriguez. Any potential deal with Chelsea would likely have to go through next summer as the Blues are still under a transfer embargo that will cover the January transfer window unless something their appeal to overturn their ban is successful.
