Sadio Mane pipped teammate Mohamed Salah and City star Riyad Mahrez as he was named the best male player on the continent at the annual CAF awards.
Mane has been in sublime form for Liverpool this season as he battles with fellow African Salah to be the Reds top goalscorer this season.
Meanwhile, Barcelona star Asisat Oshoala took home the award for the best women footballer while the two coaches of the year were Djamel Belmadi (Algeria) for the men and Desiree Ellis (South Africa) for the women.
The FIFPro Africa’s Best 11 was dominated by European based players with the likes of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Kalidou Koulibaly featuring.
Cameroon were named the African Women’s National Team of the Year while Algeria were crowned Men’s National Team of the Year.
