Willem Alberts is set to make his eagerly anticipated return to the Lions side after being named on the bench for their clash against the Waratahs this weekend.
Alberts rejoined the Joburg outfit earlier this season and has finally recovered from a bicep injury that has kept him out of action to date.
Alberts isn’t the first new name on the team sheet for the season with Jamba Ulengo set to run out at wing while Carlu Sadie will also get his first start of the season.
On the bench, Wandisile Simelane could get his first taste of action. The youngster was impressive for the Lions in the Currie Cup last year and will be hoping to continue his upward rise with the outside centre tipped by many to one day wear the green and gold.
