Juventus players and staff have agreed to have their wages cut as the club attempts to manage their financila situaation amid the coronavirus crisis.
The club is set to save a total of €90m across all the players with Ronaldo set to lose €3.8m in his annual salary as the highest paid player.
This should matter little to the global super star wwho has been at the forefront of aiding the Covid-19 response having recently turned his chain of hotels into hospitals whilst agreeing to pay the salaries of all the health staff.
He has also just purchased a £8.5m on limited edition Bugatti Centodieci.
A club statement read the followwing:
“Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces that, due to the current global health emergency is preventing the performance of the sporting activity, it has reached an understanding with the players and the coach of the First Team regarding their compensation for the residual portion of the current sport season.”
Juventus is not the only club to implement measures, Barcelona players are said to be in a dispute about their wage cut situation whilst all the Schalke players agreed to waive their salaires volountarily in an effort to pay the rest of the staff at the club.
