Bayern Munich has again expressed their interest in bringing Leroy Sane to the German giants. The German winger currently has a year left on his contract with Premier League holders, Manchester City.
It seemed evident that the winger was intent on playing at the Allianz Arena during the 2019/20 campaign, although the process was halted when he tore his anterior cruciate ligament in the Community Shield against Liverpool on 4 August 2019.
Fresh reports have surfaced after Sane’s new agent, Damir Smoljan, recently said that Bayern is still interested in signing the 24-year-old. Sane has reportedly refused to sign a contract extension presented to him by Pep Guardiola which gives Bayern the green light to go ahead with the deal.
Smoljan mentioned that a few top clubs are interested in signing the player, but that Sane only sees the reigning Bundesliga champions as his next move. Manchester Evening News believes that City is demanding £145 million for Sane to leave the Etihad Stadium.
The premier league transfer window officially opens on June 10, 2020, and will close on September 1, 2020. Although most deals will be processed on July 1 when the FIFA international window opens.
