Premier League fans received some good news today with June being talked about as the potential return for the biggest league in the world.
SkySports reported that the UK government are behind the idea of getting action back on the field ‘ASAP’.
DCMS Secretary Oliver Dowden opened up on the current situation.
“I personally have been in talks with the Premier League, with a view to getting football up and running as soon as possible”
Premier League clubs will once again meet via a teleconference call on Friday to discuss the plans to get the league back underway behind closed doors in June.
With nine matchdays still to play, it will be a blockbuster few months if the league is to be completed with the UEFA Champions and Europa Leagues campaigns also still to be finished.
The United Kingdom is set to announce the review of the current lockdown on 7 May.
