Leicester City have reportedly entered the race to sign Real Betis midfielder William Carvalho who has long been linked with a move to the Premier League while at Sporting Lisbon.
The 28-year-old defensive midfielder has previously been linked with Manchester United, Arsenal and West Ham before joining Real Betis in 2018.
Since then, the Portuguese star has become a regular in the Betis side having made 43 appearances last season, chipping in with five assists along the way.
He also played 90 minutes in the 2018/19 UEFA Nations League final where Portugal beat the Netherlands.
This season, Carvalho has been marred with a muscle injury that kept him out for four months towards the end of 2019.
Inter have previously been linked with a move for the player and it looks like the Foxes are also keen on his signature.
Leicester midfielder Wilfried Ndidi is being linked with a number of clubs with a possible lucrative contract offer coming from the likes of Manchester United or PSG, leaving a big gap in the base of their midfield that Carvalho could fill.
