Wolves have taken the option to extend second choice goalkeeper John Ruddy’s contract by a further year.
Ruddy (33) joined Wolves in 2017 from Norwich on a free transfer and has since gone on to make 60 appearances, keeping an impressive 31 clean sheets in the process.
He was a central figure during the Wolves promotion campaign of 2017/18 which saw him keep 24 clean sheets on the way to lifting the Championship trophy and securing promotion to the Premier League.
While the arrival of Rui Patricio that summer, Ruddy has become a full-time deputy and has made just six appearances this season across which he conceded just four goals.
Ruddy is said to be a popular member of the changing room and plays an important role in mentoring the young upcoming keepers, allowing Patricio to focus on his role as first choice.
Ruddy was part of a number of players that have been retained by WOlves which included youngsters Taylor Perry, Cameron John, Sadou Diallo and Jamie Pardington.
On-loan winger Jordan Graham has left the club alongside Phil Ofosu-Ayeh and youth players Connor Johnson, Callum Thompson, Ming-yang Yang, Jeb Abbey and Todd Parker.
