The Emirates Lions have been buoyed by the return of captain Elton Jantjies ahead of their clash against the Griquas on Friday night.
Jantjies was ruled out of the Cheetahs clash which was eventually called off over the weekend but has recovered and will start, pushing talented youngster Gianni Lombard to fullback.
There is also a return to the line up for Stean Pienaar and Courtnall Skosan on the wings who featured heavily earlier this year but have yet to play in the competition.
Burger Odendaal and Jaco Kriel make the bench to round off a solid side well capable of getting a good result which is much needed by the Johannesburg franchise.
The Griquas, on the other hand, have made nine changes to their last 15 which includes the absence of Anthony Volmink, Victor Sekekete and Ian Groenewald who have departed the union.
The players who have retained their positions in the starting line up are Harlon Klaasen, Andre Swartz, George Whitehead and Zak Burger, Stefan Willemse and HJ Luus.
The match will kick-off at 19h00 SAST at Emirates Airline Park in Johannesburg.
